ABOUT OUR PROGRAM:
Founded and directed by Maria Emilia Fermi in 1994 and managed with son, Brando Fermi Crawford.
Our school can be best described as a 'Homeschool in School' style program. We have We have a full dynamic Spanish Immersion curriculum and are listed by MENSA as a recommended program for gifted students.
We are a small school with only 30 students total between Preschool and 8th grade.
What sets us apart?
-Fluency in Spanish Achieved within one year during Preschool years, or within two years during Elementary School years. The Spanish language is spoken throughout as the target immersion language. Academic classes are all taught in English and/or Spanish and English. If weather permits, many of our academic classes are done outdoors.
-Student to teacher ratio: some classes are one on one, two to one, with a maximum of six students to one instructor.
-Food available at all times, not only during a designated lunch hour.
-Daily schedule is customized, flexible and adaptable.
-Professional Quality programing, examples of current tutors are Jennifer, PhD in Research and Statistics, Maria, a PhD in Chemistry and many more passionate professionals.
-Guest tutors with real life experience, for example a recent presentation by a local architect, applying what is typically learned in math.

-No test to enter, no traditional testing.
-No homework assigned.
-Students are paired by interest, no by age, in a mixed age setting.

-Emerging curriculum.: An emerging curriculum is a philosophy of teaching and a way of planning a children's curriculum that focuses on being responsive to their interests. The goal is to create meaningful learning experiences for the children. Emerging curriculum can be practiced with children at any grade level. We reenforce the natural ability of being flexible and adaptable, an ability that is often subdued by curriculum and schedules that are always the same, numbing the facility of critical thinking that is so needed in an always changing world.
